Indie Game : The Movie

What are some of the difference between "big games" and "independent games" in terms of style/concepts and how they are made?   1. Big games are very polished and made with way more people. Independent games are only one person or maybe a couple of people working in it. Independent games are usually more personal and creatively free. They can make whatever they want without having to ask the higher ups in a business. They get to create their own vision. What are some of the difficulties the developers in the film had to overcome? 2. They had to spend a most of their day making the game so they had to sacrifice their social lives. Also, money was an issue because they were not working so they couldn't spend mush money. One of the developer had difficulty with the person who started the game with him but quit. He needed him to sign the documents or else the game would not be showcased. What do you think you would like about working on an indie (i...

Scratch Level 4 - Create Your Own Game

1. I had difficulties making it so that the different the pistol did more damage than the machine gun. I fixed it by deleting the old variable for zombie lives and making a new one, except  this time I  made it for the zombie sprite only. 2. I added a med kit that will spawn at a random place when you only have one heart left. This only happens one time in a game or else it would be too easy to go really far. I also added a "game over" text when you lose. 3. They said that the green ones were too fast. The green one was supposed to be faster then the orange ones anyways but they were way too fast. So I slowed them down a bit, yet a still kept them faster than the orange ones. 4. Something that I would add would be a shop where yo could buy new guns or upgrades from money that you get from killing zombies. Scratch level 3 - Pong

1. I had no trouble programming this game. It was fairly easy and straight forward, even what I added on. 2. I added code that makes it so that if you reach five points, your paddle becomes smaller and has a different design. I did this so that it gets harder and more intense near the end of the game. It is much harder to hit the ball with a smaller paddle. I also changed the design of the paddle a bit so that you can easily tell that you have the modified paddle.       <iframe allowtransparency="true" width="485" height="402" src="//scratch.mit.edu/projects/embed/189040640/?autostart=false" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/189040640/
